A total of 16 students from 12 departments under the Faculty of Arts at the University of Rajshahi have been honoured with the Dean's Award for their outstanding academic achievements.
The awards were presented at a colourful ceremony held at the university's Senate Building on Monday.
The award recipients are: Atiya Sakera Sohih and Md Alamgir Hossain from the Department of Philosophy; Latifa Khatun and Mahfuza Sultana Mukta from the Department of History; Md Asaduzzaman Rafi from the Department of English; Sabrina Mumtaz Ripa and Poly Rani from the Department of Bangla; Fatema Nasrin from the Department of Islamic History and Culture; Md Mahmudul Hasan from the Department of Arabic; Umme Habiba from the Department of Islamic Studies; Anindita Alamgir from the Department of Music; Meftahun Nahar from the Department of Drama; Khairun Nahar Alo from the Department of Persian Language and Literature; Zakia Sultana and Monira Akter from the Department of Sanskrit; and Monija Akter from the Department of Urdu.
Speaking as special guest, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Main Uddin said that reaching success requires patience, hard work, and above all, motivation.
He noted that motivation helps people move forward and makes difficult tasks easier to accomplish. He described the Dean's Award programme as an inspiring initiative.
