Brazil could play an international friendly in India, with Kolkata emerging as the likely host, The Indian Express reports citing ESPN Brasil.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is reportedly in advanced talks with Indian stakeholders to bring the 5-time world champions to the subcontinent.
Discussions are said to have begun during the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, driven by the strong support Brazil have received from Indian fans, with images of passionate supporters widely shared on social media.
Brazil are scheduled to play 3 friendlies between the end of September and the beginning of October. Two have already been confirmed against Australia – in Townsville on Sept 25 and Brisbane on Sept 29.
The CBF is negotiating a third fixture, which could potentially be held in India. The opponent has not yet been decided.
ESPN Brasil reports that there is also strong interest in hosting Brazil in Bangladesh, Singapore and Qatar, but negotiations have so far progressed only with India.
