Bangladesh Society for Head-Neck Surgeons gets new executive committee

A new executive committee of the Bangladesh Society for Head-Neck Surgeons was announced at a meeting held recently in the conference room of NIENT in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr Md Abdus Sattar and moderated by Professor Dr M Ashequr Rahman Bhuiyan, according to a press release received Tuesday.

During the meeting, the members unanimously decided to form a new executive committee to overcome long-standing organisational stagnation, make the society more dynamic and strengthen academic and organisational ties with international head-neck organisations.

Professor Dr Md Abdus Sattar was elected president of the newly formed committee, while Dr Md Abdul Karim was named general secretary. Professor Dr Md Khabir Uddin Patuary and Professor Dr Md Abbas Uddin were elected vice-presidents.

Also present at the meeting were Professor Dr Md Mazharul Shaheen, convener of the Society of Otolaryngologists and Head Neck Surgeons of Bangladesh, and Professor Dr Md Hasan Zafar, member secretary of the organisation.
