The drives were conducted on Wednesday noon at several private clinics and diagnostic centres in the municipal area under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr Ivy Ferdous.

During the drive, officials found that Darus Salam Diagnostic Centre and Shushrusha Health Care had failed to renew their licences, did not comply with environmental standards and were involved in other irregularities.

The two facilities were subsequently sealed, while each was fined Tk 40,000, bringing the combined penalty to Tk 80,000.

Meanwhile, Nagar Diagnostic Centre, located near the municipal building, was fined Tk 40,000 for failing to renew its licence and was directed to complete the renewal process without delay.

Health department officials said regular inspections are being carried out to ensure that private healthcare facilities operate in compliance with government regulations and prescribed standards.

Dr. Ivy Ferdous, Civil Surgeon, said the drives against irregularities in healthcare institutions would continue in the public interest.
