MoU signed to promote Bangladesh's business process outsourcing industry

Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) and an Uzbek agency have joined hands aiming to promote business process outsourcing or BPO industry in two countries.

To this effect, the local trade body signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IT Park Uzbekistan on Thursday at the city's Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) during a session of WCIT Bangladesh 2021, a BACCO statement said on Saturday.

According to it, President of BACCO Wahid Sharif and Chief Executive Officer of IT Park Uzbekistan Farkhod Ibragimov signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. Under the agreement, various initiatives will be taken to expand the BPO industry of the two countries.

IT Park Uzbekistan is a state owned organisation of Uzbekistan, a central Asian country, which promotes information technology (IT) businesses by providing a wide range of support.

The main objective of the agreement is to hold various business to business (B2B) sessions for the expansion of the industry, collaboration to start exporting BPO services to countries of Central Asia and CIS, create skilled manpower and to expand all facilities and incentives for foreign investment through joint cooperation.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Lauding the partnership, the state minister assured of all possible cooperation from the government for the expansion of the BPO sector.

Delegates from the IT Park Uzbekistan, BACCO office bearers, officials and representatives from different IT industries were also present at the function.
