BBS adjusted census report, says Bangladesh population 169.82 million

The population size of Bangladesh is 169.8 million, as per the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics' adjusted population census report.
It was revealed at the final session of the Post Enumeration Check (PEC) of the Population and Housing Census (PHC) 2022 event.
The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) conducted the PEC of the census.
BBS organised the event at the National Economic Council Conference Room in Dhaka city on Sunday.
BBS conducted the census in June 2022 and published the primary report on July of the same year under the Population and Household Census project, which has been framed for the 2021–2024 period.
BBS's primary report found the population at 165.1 million.
BIDS was appointed for the PEC of the census later last year, and it found 2.75 per cent of NCE, which has been adjusted by BBS in the final report.
As per the BIDS' PEC, the country's population between 2011 and 2022 showed a 19.4 per cent surge, reaching 169.8 million.
