BGB seizes gold bars worth Tk 26m from Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday seized six gold bars worth Tk 26 million at Daulatpur border area in Benapole.

Lt. Col. Tanvir Rahman, commander of the Khulna BGB-21 battalion, said they launched a drive being tipped-off that a man was smuggling the gold bars to India through the border, reports UNB.

The smuggler fled to India crossing the Ichamati River leaving behind the gold bars, said the BGB official.
