BTRC shuts down servers of three illegal GPS tracking firms

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has shut down the servers of three companies, Motolock, Taslock, and Sinotrack, for operating vehicle tracking services (VTS) without a license.

The move is part of a wider crackdown on unlicensed GPS tracking businesses.

According to local media, the shutdown has disrupted services for thousands of GPS users.

BTRC previously warned these companies about their illegal operations but took enforcement action after continued violations.

Last year, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three people in Dhaka for illegally selling GPS trackers, remote control devices, and frequency equipment linked to these firms.
