The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved a proposal to extend the contract period and approve a variation in the consultancy agreement for the ongoing National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) Development (1st Revised) Project being implemented by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

The proposal, placed by the Prime Minister’s Office, relates to the continuation of services under the package titled “Selection of Design and Supervision Consultant (Package No. PMC-15-BSMSN-BEZA).”
Under the proposal, the consultancy contract value will be revised to Tk 89.85 crore from the original Tk 831.4 million.
The contract period has also been proposed to be extended by two years, from the original duration of July 17, 2023 to December 31, 2025, to a revised period ending on December 31, 2027.
The consultancy services are being provided by a joint venture comprising Cheil Engineering Co Ltd of Korea, Yooshin Engineering Corporation of Korea, and Engineering and Planning Consultants Ltd of Bangladesh.
