The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved a proposal to import refined petroleum products worth an estimated Tk 160.88 billion.

This will be done under government-to-government (G2G) term agreements with six state-owned foreign suppliers for the July to December 2026 period.
The proposal was placed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division at the CCGP meeting which was presided over by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Under the scheme, Bangladesh will procure refined fuel oil based on the agreed premium, quantity and prevailing reference prices for the six-month period.
The recommended suppliers are Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) of the United Arab Emirates, PetroChina of China, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) of India, OQT of Thailand, BSP of Indonesia and Unipec of China.
The committee recommended the final approval to the proposal.
