Train services on the Chattogram–Cox's Bazar route resumed after a five-day suspension as repair work was completed following the recession of floodwaters from the tracks.

Farhan Mahmud, the divisional transportation officer for the Eastern Railway, said that the “Parjatak Express” from Dhaka arrived at Chattogram Station at 11:54am on Sunday. The train subsequently departed for Cox's Bazar around 2:15pm, bdnews24.com reports.

Around 2:20pm on Sunday, the Parjatak Express crossed the section between Sholashahar Sunniya Madrasa and Shamsher Para—an area where the railway tracks had been submerged in water for the past few days.

Meanwhile, the Chattogram-bound 'Prabal Express', starting from Cox's Bazar, departed from Janali Hat Station towards Chattogram Station around 1pm.
