Cost of Hajj rises, minimum cost Tk 0.34m

The cost of Hajj package for 2019, through both public and private providers, has been hiked for the second year in a row, according to a bdnews24.com report.

As per new price, Hajj package-1 has been set at Tk 418,500 from Tk 397,929 and package-2 at Tk 344,000 from Tk 319,355 this year.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam disclosed it to press on Monday after weekly cabinet meeting held at PM's office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The cabinet said a total of 127,198 pilgrims will be able to perform hajj this year, as per a report by UNB.

Of them, 120,000 pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia under private management while 7,198 under government management, added Shafiul.

The plane fare, however, has been deduced from previous year to Tk 128,000 to Tk 138,191.
