Government development organisation Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) will finance an initiative taken by its RAISE to provide skills training to 400 COVID-19 affected traders and unemployed youths in Magura at the informal sector.

The orientation programme for the initiative was held on Sunday at the Magura Adarsha College, where the college's Principal (acting) Golam Kabiar was present as the chief guest.

Under the project, the beneficiaries will be trained for six months to work as automotive mechanics, refrigeration technicians, tillers, or beauty care providers.

After the training period, each of them will be provided a Tk 21,000 stipend and will be eligible for loan support of over Tk 200,000 at a meagre lending rate to utilise it in their path to employment.

Kazi Kamaramnazzaman, executive director of Non-governmental organisation Rural Organisation for Voluntary Activity (ROVA) Foundation, chaired the orientation programme. PKSF is implementing the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE), a five-year project, since February 2022.
