A clash between Daffodil International University students and locals in Savar's Ashulia Union on Sunday resulted in injuries to a minimum of 20 people.

Locals claimed that Hasibul Hasan Antar, a student of Daffodil International University, was killed by another student Rahat and his men a few days ago. The area is currently experiencing a tense situation following the incident, according to a UNB report.

On Friday night in the Birulia area of Savar, students from Daffodil University engaged in vandalism and looting, targeting over 150 shops, while demanding the apprehension of the murderers.

Following the incident, local people of the Changaon area of Ashulia held a discussion for the safety of life and property. However, later the students vandalised more than 200 shops and houses in the Changao area with sticks and sharp weapons hearing the news of the meeting, leaving at least 20 people injured.

Deepak Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, said the situation is calm at present.
