Around 150 shanties were burned down after a fire broke out in Maniknagar area of Dhaka on Sunday.
The fire occurred around 3:20 pm at a tin-shed house in Cumilla Potti, said Lima Khanam, Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, reports UNB.
Seven firefighting units brought the fire under control at around 4:45 pm, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
Firefighters managed to extinguished the flame at 6:10 pm, she added.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, Lima said.
No casualty was reported, said Pronoy Kumar, officer-in-charge of Mugda Police Station.
