Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), in separate drives on Saturday, found Aedes larvae in 24 houses and establishments, and fined Tk 24, 000 in the capital as it launched combing operation.
Apart from this, different DNCC teams found favourable Aedes breeding ground or stagnant water in 929 houses and establishments.
A total of 953 houses, establishments, buildings under construction and so on were inspected during the operation.
Under the campaign, the DNCC carried out drives at the city’s Uttara, Mirpur -2, Mirpur-10 Mohakhali, and Karwan Bazar areas.
The DNCC's drives will continue to protect the city dwellers from dengue through curbing Aedes mosquito, officials said.
Last year, the city corporation launched a '10-day combing operation' to prevent breeding of Aedes mosquitoes responsible for dengue fever.
