The government is set to appoint Dr Ahsan H. Mansur, a former top official of the International Monetary Fund, as the next governor of the central bank, sources confirmed.
In this regard, the maximum age limit of 67 for the position of central bank governor will be abolished this afternoon, they added.
When contacted, Mansur told the FE that he has heard about the appointment but has yet to receive the appointment letter.
