Fire-fighters extinguish flames at city’s textile mill

Fire fighters have managed to douse off fire at a textile mill in the city's Shyampur area.

Duty Officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence central control room, Mahmudul Haque confirmed the information to reporters in the evening.

The fire at 'Lucky Textile Mills', situated on the second floor of a six-storey building, started around 4:30am and it soon engulfed the entire floor, he said.

On information, eight fire fighting units rushed in and doused the flame around 9am.

Fire fighters also rescued some workers, who got trapped in the building.

UNB says no one was missing in the incident.

The reason behind the fire could not be ascertained yet, another officer said, adding that actual reason as well as the extent of loss could be known after investigation.
