Mr. Hassan, formerly an additional secretary, worked as acting secretary at the office since January 26, 2018.

Before joining the PMO as acting secretary, Mr. Hassan served Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as personal secretary-1.

He also facilitated some development works in the municipality along with introducing double-shift in Mohanganj Government Pilot High School, and intercity trains from Dhaka to Mohanganj, among others, according to local people.

Hassan, a 1985 BCS Administration cadre officer, was appointed as Sylhet Divisional Commissioner. Prior to that, he served as the joint secretary at Road Transport and Highways division.

He passed SSC from Mohanganj Government Pilot High School, HSC from Dhaka College and honours and masters from Agricultural University.

During his professional, Mr. Hassan went to Western Sydney University with a scholarship for higher studies.

Akhlaqul Hossain Ahmed, father of Mr. Hassan, was one of the organisers of the liberation war.

Mr. Akhlaqul was elected a member of erstwhile East Pakistan Provincial Assembly (MPA) with a landslide victory in the Pakistan national election held in 1970.
