Govt launches roadshow to promote jute products

The government on Thursday brought out a colourful roadshow from the capital to different districts of the country in a bid to encourage people to use jute products, marking the upcoming 'National Jute Day'.

State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam inaugurated the show in the morning at Manik Mia Avenue that ended up in Faridpur district in the afternoon, said a press statement of the ministry.

The roadshow will visit Jamalpur district via Dhaka on Friday.

Azam said, "The government has taken massive programmes to revive the past glory of the golden fibre."

He called upon people from all walks of lives to increase the use of jute and jute products.

The roadshow was adorned with colourful banner, festoons and decorated vehicles exhibiting different features and benefits of using jute products.

Textile and Jute Secretary Faizur Rahman and heads of different organisations under the ministry were also present on the occasion, reports UNB.
