The government has set a target to send 5.0 million skilled workers abroad for decent jobs by 2024.
It has also planned to develop 500,000 entrepreneurships including 100,000 digital rural entrepreneurships across the country.
The plan was revealed at a function titled National Conference on Skills and Future of Work at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital on Thursday.
a2i (Access to information,) the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and ActionAid Bangladesh organised the conference.
Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman was present as the chief guest while Senior Secretary, Information and Communication Technology Division N M Zeaul Alam, chaired the function.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, among others, attended the programme.
