The government has reconstituted the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued two separate notifications recently in this regard.

Under the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Act, 2018, the Prime Minister has been made Chairman of the reconstituted Board of Trustees, while Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan will serve as Vice-Chairman.

The other members of the board are Dhaka-6 MP Ishraque Hossain, Kishoreganj-4 MP Md Fazlur Rahman, Cumilla-6 MP Md Monirul Haque Chowdhury, Noakhali-2 MP Zainul Abdin Farroque, the Secretary of the Finance Division, the Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and the Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

The Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will act as the Member-Secretary.

Meanwhile, the government has also reconstituted the Trust’s Executive Committee under Section 13 of the same Act.

Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has been appointed President of the committee.

The executive committee members remain the same as the trustee board.

The Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will serve as the Member-Secretary of the Executive Committee.
