NESCO holds meet on installation of prepaid meters in Rajshahi city

Jakiul Islam, Managing Director of Northern Electric Supply Company (NESCO) in an exchange of views meeting with journalists and local elite at NESCO office in Rajshahi on Thursday noon.

The MD said NESCO is a service-oriented government organisation and the prepaid smart-electric meters in Rajshahi will be installed after holding a further discussion with the people concerned.

Jakiul Islam further mentioned to cater to the present-day demand, NESCO has taken up a project amounting Taka 4 billion (400 crore) to install some 225,000 smart-prepaid meters to all households in Rajshahi city to ensure a flawless electric supply and metering system. The smart-prepaid meters will be the most effective and popular system among electricity consumers within a short time.
