The BNP-backed Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parishad has won the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election, winning 10 out of 14 posts.
BNP Vice-chairman Advocate Joynul Abedin was elected SCBA president while Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon general secretary of the bar association respectively outplaying their respective rivals.
Out of 14 posts, Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Forum bagged 10 while four posts, including one of vice-president, went to Awami League-led alliance Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parisad, reports UNB.
AY Mashiuzzaman, convener of SCBA election conducting committee, announced the results around 7:30 am.
