BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the High Court’s stay order on the by-polls of Dhaka North City Corporation reflects “utter failure” of the Election Commission.
The government conducted several surveys and came to know that they will not be able to win the polls, Fakhrul said.
He came up with the remarks to journalists on Alia Madrasah premises at Bakshi Bazar on Wednesday.
The BNP leader further stated separation of election area is a must before the schedule of the polls is declared.
However, Election Commission declared the date of DNCC polls without the formalities.
Fakhrul was accompanying BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as she appeared before the special court at Bakshi Bazar in Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case.
