Dhaka University economics teacher Prof Selim Raihan has joined Transparency International Bangladesh’s Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
Raihan, also the executive director of the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM), attended the 128th meeting of TIB’s highest policy-making body following his appointment on Tuesday, the anti-corruption organisation said in a media statement.
He obtained his postgraduate degree from Dhaka University and a PhD from the University of Manchester in the UK.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Development Network (GDN), an honorary senior research fellow at the University of Manchester and an alumnus of Harvard University’s programme “Cutting Edge of Development Thinking”.
The Board of Trustees is TIB’s highest policy-making body.
The other members are noted human rights activist and founder of the floating hospital “Jibon Tari” Monsur Ahmed Choudhuri, who serves as chairperson, and The Daily Star publisher and editor Mahfuz Anam, who is treasurer.
