Shah Husain Imam, former Associate Editor of The Daily Star, has joined The Financial Express as its Editor. He succeeds late iconic business journalist Moazzem Hossain who passed away on August 01, 2018. Mr. Imam has BA Hon’s and Masters degrees in General History from Dhaka University with Economics as a subsidiary subject at the graduation level. He successfully completed a Senior Journalists’ Programme sponsored by the East West Centre, Hawaii, USA in August-September, 2004.
Shah Husain Imam brings with him 40 years of journalistic experience to his new assignment. He served as Associate Editor of The Daily Star for 24 years, ran a regular Friday column, contributed to Star weekly magazine and edited The Star’s monthly journal Forum from 2009 to 2013. He brought out special thematic supplements with strong economic and development contents. He is the recipient of The Daily Star’s Long Time Contribution Award.
Mr. Imam contributed to the British daily The Guardian in 1981. Some of his columns in The Daily Star were reprinted in regional newspapers – The Statesman and Dawn – under Asian News Network (ANN) arrangements.
A national debate championship winner at the college level, he has participated in several international conference and consultations, travelling far and wide.
