Six Bangladeshi nationals were killed and another was injured after a fire broke out at a shop in South Africa's Eastern Cape province early Tuesday.

The deceased were residents of Kukerchar and Char Alirtek areas under Alirtek Union, and Ramnagar area under Baktabali Union in Narayanganj Sadar upazila.
The fire broke out at around 3:00 am local time on Tuesday at the shop in Queenstown. The victims were reportedly asleep inside the shop when the blaze started.
All six died at the scene, while the injured person was admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
