The victims were identified as Rakib, 14, Rajon, 25, and Sumon, 27, UNB reports.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred on Friday night at the house of one Arif Mia in the area while they were repairing the gas pipeline, leaving the three injured.

They were later taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery at around 5:30 am, said Shaon Bin Rahman, Resident Medical Officer of the institute.

Among the victims, Rakib sustained 17 per cent burn injuries.
