Two people have been killed and two others injured after a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Faridpur’s Bhanga.
The fatal accident took place around 10:30pm on Tuesday in near Purba Sadardi, Bhanga Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mamun said.
The dead have been identified as Ali Imran Sharif, 23, and Saiful Molla, 22, reports bdnews24.com.
Citing locals, SI Mamun said a motorcycle travelling towards Barishal from Dhaka collided head-on with another bike heading towards Bhanga from the opposite direction.
All four riders suffered serious injuries in the crash.
He added, "Locals rushed to the scene, rescued the victims, and took them straight to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor pronounced [Sharif] dead on arrival.
"The physician then referred [Saiful], who was in critical condition, to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way."
The two injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex
Legal procedures in connection with the incident are under way, the police officer said.
