Renowned singer Zeenat Rehana, best known for the timeless classic "Shagorer Teer Theke", has passed away.
She died on Wednesday (July 2) at around 8:30am while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.
Her family has confirmed that the first janaza will be held at the Gulshan Azad Mosque following Zuhr prayers. A second janaza is scheduled at the Channel i premises at 3:00pm , after which she will be laid to rest at Banani Graveyard.
Zeenat Rehana began her musical career in 1964 as an enlisted artiste with Bangladesh Betar (then Radio Bangladesh). Her breakthrough came in 1968 with the recording and broadcast of "Shagorer Teer Theke", a song that drew monumental praise from listeners across the country.
