Bangladesh team wins award in Robofest 2026 World Championship in US

A team of young robotics enthusiasts from Bangladesh has secured the third place in the Senior BottleSumo World Championship category at Robofest 2026, held at Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan, USA.

Robofest is an international robotics competition hosted by Lawrence Technological University, where students design, build, and program autonomous robots to compete in different challenge-based categories.

The 27th Robofest World Championship 2026 was held from May 14 to 16, 2026, bringing together talented student teams from different parts of the world, according to a statement.

A total of seven students were part of the Bangladesh team. Among them, six participating students were from International Hope School Bangladesh (IHSB), and one intern student was from a National Curriculum college in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The entire team was trained, mentored, and groomed by Robonauts Club.

Md. Mansib Ahsan (Grade 7 student), Shayaan Sadid Zaman (Grade 7 student),  TANG.TIANXING (Grade 7 student), Nasif Ashab Khan Jami (Grade 8 student),  Abdur Rahman Lahi (Grade 12 student),  Farhan Mustafa (Grade 9 student)and Abrar Hasan (Grade 9 student) travelled while Md Moonzoor Morshed travelled as the coach.

Coach of Robofest Bangladesh Team and Chief Executive Director of Robonauts Ltd Md Moonzoor Morshed said the achievement is not only about winning a trophy, but also about building confidence, discipline, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving ability among young students.
