The directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday elected Aminul Islam Bulbul, former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, as the president of the board.

Through the election, Aminul Islam Bulbul, a BCB director nominated by the National Sports Council (NSC), replaced Faruque Ahmed.

During an emergency meeting on the day at the BCB office at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Nazmul Abedin Fahim and Fahim Sinha were elected senior vice-president and vice-president, respectively.

Earlier on the day, the NSC issued a gazette notification appointing Bulbul as a BCB director. On Thursday night, Faruque Ahmed’s nomination as an NSC-appointed director was cancelled through another notification.
