The Dhaka Stock Exchange, or DSE, has set a new trading schedule for the stock market during Ramadan.
In a statement on Wednesday, it confirmed that trading will take place from 10am to 1:40pm, followed by a 10-minute post-closing session, bdnews24.com reports.
However, the DSE's office operations will continue from 9am to 3:30pm.
After Ramadan and the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, both office hours and trading schedules will return to their normal timings.
Under normal circumstances, the stock exchange operates from 10am to 2:20pm, with a 10-minute post-closing session while office hours are from 9am to 5pm.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a directive for government office hours during the holy month, set from 9am to 3:30pm.
If the moon is sighted, Ramadan in Bangladesh is expected to begin on Mar 2.
