All scheduled banks across Bangladesh will be closed on Thursday (October 10) in observance of the Durga Puja holiday, as announced by the government. However, to accommodate essential financial services, banks located in strategic areas such as seaports, land ports, and airports will remain operational under special arrangements, according to Bangladesh Bank.
In a directive issued by the Department of Off-site Supervision of the central bank on Tuesday, it was stated that due to the nationwide public holiday declared by the government, all scheduled banks operating in the country will be closed on Thursday.
However, branches and sub-branches of banks located in sea, land, and airport areas will remain open under special arrangements, it said.
