Concord Entertainment wins President's Award for Industrial Development

In recognition of its significant contribution to the national economy, Concord Entertainment Co Ltd has been awarded the prestigious 'President's Industrial Development Award for 2021', said a media statement on Monday.
Industries Minister Mr Nurul Majid Mahmood Humayun handed over the crest and certificate to the company at a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday (May 23).
Zakia Sultana, senior secretary of the Ministry of Industries, presided over the award ceremony programme, while Dr Md Abdus Shahid, minister for agriculture, and Mahbubul Alam, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), were special guests.
Concord Group - the parent company of Concord Entertainment Co Ltd - is renowned for its significant contributions to the construction industry. The company began its journey in 1973, playing a pivotal role in the reconstruction of the newly independent Bangladesh.
One of Concord Entertainment Co Ltd's most notable achievements is the establishment of Bangladesh's first theme park, Fantasy Kingdom Complex, located in Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. Inaugurated in 2002 by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Fantasy Kingdom was the brainchild of Mr SM Kamaluddin, Chairman of Concord Group, who recognised the need for healthy entertainment options in the country. The park features a variety of heart thrilling rides, the Water Kingdom, and a Heritage park, showcasing miniature replicas of historical monuments of Bangladesh.
Further expanding its footprint in the entertainment sector, Concord Entertainment developed Foy's Lake Concord in Chattogram. Nestled within the natural beauty and biodiversity of Foy's Lake, this park complex includes Sea World Concord and Foy's Lake Resort, offering a serene escape within the bustling city.
Mr Shahriar Kamal, the managing director of Concord Group, continues to steer the company towards growth and innovation in the real estate and entertainment industries.
