As part of Dhaka Bank's CSR program, an agreement was signed and executed between Dhaka Bank PLC and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, through which seedlings of rice and other vegetable and fruit plants produced at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, will be distributed free of cost to 1,000 farmers in the recently flood-affected areas; and farmers who will get seedlings of paddy, other vegetables and fruit plants, will also be provided with various fertilizers and pesticides.
Apart from this, the students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University will also provide advisory services to take care of these plants and vegetables throughout the season, according to a press release.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University presided over the meeting where the agreement was signed by Mr. Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Emerging Market Officer, Dhaka Bank and Mr. Sheikh Rezaul Karim, Registrar, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University on behalf of their respective institutions on 19 September 2024.
Mr. H M Mostafizur Rahman, EVP & Head, Retail Business and Mr. Md. Katebur Rahman SVP & Head, Agriculture Business Unit from Dhaka Bank and Prof. Dr. Salauddin Mahmud Chowdhury, Dean, Post Graduate Studies, Dr. Muh. Rashedul Islam, Director, Student Counseling and Guidance, Prof. Dr. Tahmina Akhtar, Department of Entomology were also present on this signing ceremony.
