Energy stakeholders unite at FBCCI seminar for a secure energy future

A seminar titled “Power and Energy Scenario in Bangladesh: Ensuring Energy Security for Development” was held on January 25, 2025, at the FBCCI Office in Motijheel, Dhaka.

Mr. Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO of IDCOL, delivered the welcome speech, setting the stage for a constructive dialogue on energy security, according to a media release. 

Following this, Mr. Md. Enamul Karim Pavel, Head of Renewable Energy, presented the keynote, addressing insights on renewable energy initiatives and how they can contribute to national development.

Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, attended the seminar as the chief guest.

He said steps have already been taken to purchase some basic energy through open tenders. In that case, the opportunity is available to purchase energy at competitive prices.

This seminar represented a vital platform for stakeholders in the energy sector to collaborate, share knowledge, and exchange ideas to enhance energy security and resilience in Bangladesh.

Mr. Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & CEO, IDCOL, expressed his gratitude to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry for organizing the event and acknowledged the leadership of Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan.

He underscored the crucial role that energy plays in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens.

The event was attended by BERC Chairman Mr. Jalal Ahmed and SREDA Chairman Khandker Md. Abdul Hye, business leaders and other dignitaries were present at the seminar.
