The price hike follows an increase in the cost of pure gold in the local market. The new rates will come into effect from 10:00 am on Monday (February 23), according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Monday. The information was disclosed in a press release signed by the committee’s chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
