Karmasangsthan Bank receives special recognition from Bangladesh Bank for job creation

Karmasangsthan Bank has received special recognition from Bangladesh Bank for its significant and outstanding contribution to employment creation through the Supporting Post COVID-19 Small Scale Employment Creation Project (SPCSSECP), funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank, according to a press release.
A seminar titled “Inclusive Finance and Enterprise Development” under the SPCCSECP was held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall of Bangladesh Bank, Head Office. Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and chief guest of the seminar, presented the certificate of appreciation to Arun Kumar Chowdhury, Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank.
Bangladesh Bank, in its certificate of recognition, acknowledged Karmasangsthan Bank’s strong institutional commitment to the expansion of the SPCSSECP program and its effective role in promoting financial inclusion at the grassroots level.The certificate further stated that, through this program, Karmasangsthan Bank played a significant role in fostering women’s entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities, and expanding economic activities by disbursing the highest volume of loans among the 11 participating banks and financial institutions to Cottage, Micro and Small Enterprises (CMSEs).
Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and SPCCSSECP Project Director Manoj Kumar Howlader, Additional Director and Deputy Project Director Dr. Shirin Akter, GFA Consulting Group Team Leader Ali Sabet, representatives of the Economic Relations Division of the Ministry of Finance, and senior officials of various banks and financial institutions were present at the event.
