Mr. Kimiwa Saddat joined NRB Bank PLC as Additional Managing Director & Chief Business Officer (AMD & CBO) on Wednesday, according to a press release.
Mr. Saddat is a distinguished banking leader with over 23 years of diversified banking experience, spanning Corporate Banking, SME Banking, Structured Finance, Offshore Banking, Financial Institutions Business, Trade Services, Supply Chain Finance, Cash Management, Agent Banking, Recovery & Restructuring, Lease Finance and Islamic Banking.
Prior to joining NRB Bank PLC, he served as Managing Director & CEO (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, where he successfully led the Bank through a period of strong business growth, accelerated digital transformation, strengthened governance and operational excellence, and maintained one of the industry's lowest Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratios.
Earlier, as Deputy Managing Director of Meghna Bank PLC, he played a pivotal role in driving the Bank's overall business growth and strategic transformation. Beyond leading key business functions, he provided leadership across multiple strategic areas, including business development, Islamic Banking, brand and marketing initiatives, and several organisation-wide transformation projects, contributing significantly to the Bank's growth and market positioning.
During his distinguished career, Mr. Saddat has held senior leadership positions at HSBC Bangladesh, The City Bank PLC, Eastern Bank PLC, Meghna Bank PLC, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, and GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh) Ltd. He brings a rare combination of experience from a leading multinational bank, two of Bangladesh's highest-rated private commercial banks, and high-growth new-generation banks. This unique blend of international banking standards, best-in-class local banking practices, and institution-building experience provides him with a well-rounded perspective to drive sustainable growth, innovation and organisational excellence.
In addition to his corporate career, Mr. Saddat is an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, where he contributes to developing the next generation of finance and banking professionals.
He holds both BBA and MBA in Finance from the University of Dhaka and is a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC), Canada.
