A leather industrial estate is going be set up in Rajshahi soon, official concerned in the government decided in a meeting held over the issue.
Chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Md Mustaq Hasan held a meeting with Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton yesterday (Monday) to this effect.
High-ranking government officials, including BSCIC director of planning and development Abdul Manna was present among others in the meeting.
BSCIC chairman assured the RCC mayor to provide all necessary support to this end.
“The proposed leather industrial estate would create a huge employment in Rajshahi,” he said in the meeting.
Earlier, a meeting was held between RCC Mayor and Industries Minister Nurul Majid Humayun in the latter’s residence in this regard on Monday.
