Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud appointed chairman of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank

Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGP, ndu, afwc, psc has been appointed as chairman of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank.
The Department of Financial Institutions of the Ministry of Finance issued a letter in this regard on Sunday.
Major General Sazzad joined the Bangladesh Military Academy in 1990 as a young, talented officer cadet and was commissioned into the Infantry Corps through the 26th Long Term Course on 9 June 1992. After his commission, he began his military career by joining the 9th Battalion (Charging Nine) of the East Bengal Regiment.
In addition to training in various fields, he successfully completed the United Nations Integrated Mission Staff Officers Course (UNIMSC) in Canada and the International Joint Operational Planning Course in the United Kingdom. He earned Master’s in Military Science (Strategic Studies) with honours from the National Defense University, China. He also graduated from the Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and the National Defense College, Mirpur (NDC). Major General Sazzad has participated in various professional training prohgrammes, seminars and workshops both at home and abroad. He was awarded the ‘Sena Gaurav Padak (SGP)’ for conducting a successful raid operation on a terrorist hideout in the border area of Bilaichhari Zone in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
