Meat, fish, egg, milk and other dairy products worth Tk 2.04 billion were sold in a month through the mobile sale activities of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock that started on April 5.
Mobile sales activities are being coordinated across the country through a control room of the Fisheries Department and another of the Livestock Department, said a handout.
The ministry initiated the sale to ensure supply of fish, milk, meat and egg at fair prices to ensure people's nutrition during the lockdown enforced by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19.
According to the information of the control room, fish, meat, milk, eggs and dairy products were sold in 64 districts of the country through 17,954 mobile sale centres.
In the mobile sales centres, milk between Tk 50 to Tk 60 per liter, egg at Tk 6 , beef at Tk 500 per kg, mutton at Tk 700 per kg, golden chicken at Tk 200 to Tk 220 per kg and broiler chicken at Tk 119 to Tk 130 per kg are being sold.
In addition to mobile sales outlets, fish worth around Tk 30 million have been sold online in the last one month.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim and Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Raonak Mahmud are regularly supervising the mobile sale activities across the country, it said.
