NRBC Bank PLC has disbursed agricultural loans worth Tk 350 million among 500 farmers and entrepreneurs to enhance their financial capacity and support rural economic development, according to a press release.

The loan disbursement programme, along with the distribution of nutritious food, was held on Saturday at the office of Socio-Economic Health Education Organization (SHEO), a private development organisation in Jhenaidah.
Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, Managing Director and CEO of NRBC Bank PLC, attended the event as the chief guest. The programme was chaired by Md. Samsul Alam, Founder and Executive Director of SHEO. Among others, Mr. Tanushree Mitra, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Credit Risk Management Division-1 (CRMD-1) of NRBC Bank; Agriculturist Md. Abdul Halim, Head of Khulna and Barishal Zones; and Md Jamal Uddin, Manager of Hatgopalpur Branch, were present.
The initiative was undertaken to strengthen the rural economy through agricultural development and entrepreneurship promotion. In addition to the loan disbursement, nutritious food was distributed among the beneficiaries to raise awareness about nutrition and encourage healthy living.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, said agriculture remains one of the key drivers of Bangladesh's economy and that NRBC Bank continues to support the sector through agricultural financing, CMSME loans, financial inclusion initiatives and various corporate social responsibility programmes. He reaffirmed the bank's commitment to contributing to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural communities across the country.
