TEAM Group on Sunday observed the first death anniversary of its founder, Abdullah Hil Rakib, paying tribute to his contributions to Bangladesh’s business landscape and the ready-made garment sector.

In a statement, the company described Rakib as a visionary entrepreneur and industry leader who devoted his life to building enterprises that generated employment, empowered workers and advanced the country’s economic development.

As the founder of TEAM Group, Rakib championed innovation, inclusive growth and sustainable value creation.

He was also widely recognised as an ambassador of Bangladesh’s RMG industry, having played a significant role in strengthening the sector’s global reputation through his leadership and forward-looking approach.

The statement noted that Rakib’s legacy continues to inspire the group’s employees and stakeholders, with the company highlighting the values he upheld throughout his life — humility, compassion, perseverance and a commitment to excellence.

“Though our beloved founder is no longer among us, his ideals, leadership and humanity remain a lasting source of inspiration and guidance for us all,” it said.

Abdullah Hil Rakib, managing director of TEAM Group and former senior vice-president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, died on June 9, 2025, following a canoeing accident in Ontario, Canada. He was 54.

The company prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
