The internationally recognised Android developer conference, droidcon, is set to make its return to Bangladesh after an eight-year break. Scheduled for June 20–21, 2025, the two-day event will be held at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in Dhaka.
Titled Droidcon Bangladesh 2025, the conference is expected to draw over 500 participants, including developers, engineers, tech professionals, students, and company representatives from both local and international communities.
The event will feature 19 international speakers and over 20 technical sessions, providing in-depth insights into current trends and challenges in mobile technology.
The opening day, Friday, 20 June, will begin with an inaugural ceremony and continue with ten sessions. Topics will include Kotlin, Flutter, clean architecture, user interface design, and shared experiences from working developers.
The second day will feature nine additional sessions, covering topics such as Android security, AI in mobile testing, Kotlin Multiplatform, and engineering leadership.
Speakers from renowned companies, including JetBrains, NativeWaves, Wolt, Brain Station 23, Cheq, Pathao, and Zelf, will lead sessions and discussions.
Alongside keynote speeches and lightning talks, the conference will also feature a guest panel, a tech quiz, a raffle draw, and a closing session. Areas of focus include Android and Kotlin development, cross-platform tools, software architecture, accessibility, user experience, and the role of artificial intelligence in debugging and testing.
This marks the second time droidcon is being hosted in Bangladesh, having been an event taking place in 2017 with an attendance of over 300. With this return, Dhaka joins the list of international droidcon cities, such as Berlin, London, San Francisco, and Nairobi.
Sunnat629 Dev is organising this year's event in collaboration with TechAByte Solutions. Co-hosts include the IUB Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the IEEE Bangladesh Section, and the Independent University, Bangladesh.
The conference is sponsored by Dynamic Solution Innovators Ltd, with Brain Station 23 and Cheq as gold sponsors. Community partners include BDApps, JetBrains, and Agile Bangladesh. The Financial Express is a media partner of the event.
