One person was killed and two others were injured in a gunfight between rival groups over the control of a fish enclosure in the West Saral area of Saral union under Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram at around 4:00 am on Friday.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Zillur Rahman (47). He was the son of Abdul Alim from the Makbul Fakir Bari at Ward No. 3 of Saral Union under Banshkhali.
According to local sources, the deceased and the injured were supporters of the 'Mansur Group', who dashed with the 'Kabir Group'.
The rival groups had long been at loggerheads over the ownership and control of the fish enclosure.
The dispute turned violent in the early hours of Friday when members of the two groups exchanged gunfire, leaving Zillur and two others injured.
Locals rescued the injured and sent them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), where doctors declared Zillur dead. The identities of the two injured could not be confirmed immediately.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banshkhali thana Md Rabiul Haque said, the "incident of gun fight occurred over the control of a fish enclosure, leaving several people injured. Among the injured sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, a man named Zillur Rahman died while undergoing treatment. Police arrived at the scene immediately after the incident and have launched an operation. Police are conducting drives to arrest those involved in the incident."
