Chittagong University (CU) has suspended all classes and examinations as torrential rain continues to disrupt transport to the campus.
The move comes after severe weather left parts of Chattogram waterlogged.
On Wednesday, the university announced that all academic activities would remain suspended for the day, reports bdnews24.com.
An announcement signed by Acting Registrar Prof Mohammed Saiful Islam said the decision had been taken because of adverse weather, waterlogging and transport problems.
Heavy rainfall has continued across Chattogram on Wednesday, a day after the port city recorded its highest daily rainfall in 42 years.
Prof Saiful told bdnews24.com that excessive rainfall had disrupted bus services between the university and the city.
He said a university bus that left the campus at 2:30 pm on Tuesday remained stranded at Boro Dighir Par until 10 pm.
As many teachers have been unable to travel to the campus on time, holding classes and examinations has not been possible, he said, adding that the suspension applies only to Wednesday.
