Student orientation programme of ICMAB

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a colorful orientation programme for the newly admitted students of the January – June 2023 session on April 11, 2023, at its Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet Dhaka.

Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Executive Director of the Institute welcomed all the newly admitted students, council members, and others in the programme, according to a media release. 

In his speech, he briefly described about the Institute and its objective of promoting and regulating the Cost and Management Accounting profession in the country.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA, Director, Academic Affairs Division ICMAB took a session on Academic Briefing. In his session Dr. Zakaria informed the students the value of CMA education as one of the top ranked professional qualifications and why it is distinguished from general education.

Mr. Zillur Rahman FCMA, DGM (Finance & Accounts), Healthcare Pharmaceuticals presented a well-formed presentation - Pathway to CMA.

S.M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA Member, Education Committee, ICMAB, spoke in the occasion on CMA education. Mr. Mohammed Jahangir Alam FCMA Chairman, Students Affairs Committee, Council Member presented a short presentation on how to become a successful CMA.

President of ICMAB, Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA answered few queries of the newly entrants. He informed that the Institute is a member of worlds accounting organizations like IFAC, CAPA and SAFA. It has also affiliation with other professional accounting bodies of the world. If anybody determines to overcome the hurdle, he should maintain it with full dedication and sincerity.

Most of the presenters and speakers depicted that once they have become the students they are in the process of becoming a member of a professional body like ICMAB. In future they will rule the economy and in the next 25 years a number of them will be in the key positions of prominent national and international organizations at home and abroad. They will be the leaders, the policy makers. Keeping that in mind the students have to work hard and utilize the time efficiently and effectively.

Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Secretary offered vote of thanks at the end of the programme . There was an arrangement of IFATAR for all the participants at the end of the programme . It was a vibrant and interactive session with active participation of the students.
